League: Pacific Coast League
History: From 1958-59 and 1966-97 the Phoenix Firebirds played in the Pacific Coast League as a Triple-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants. The team was initially called the Phoenix Giants, and their hiatus came when the franchise was relocated to Tacoma, Washington and became the Tacoma Giants. They returned to Phoenix, Arizona in 1966 and continued playing as the Giants until their name change in 1986. The team won four division titles and two league titles, claiming their final division title in their final season in 1997. Following the 1997 season the owners of the Phoenix Firebirds ended their relationship with the San Francisco Giants and moved the team to Tucson, Arizona, becoming an affiliate for the new expansion team the Arizona Diamondbacks and changing the name to the Tucson Sidewinders.
